Hi Folks.

Having now joined the ranks of the recently retired we have filled some of our spare time with a NEW dance class in Whittlesey. Class is held on Monday mornings, 11.00 - 12.30 at St Andrew's Hall and is mainly for beginners / returners looking for a low key social dance class. Many of the class are first time linedancers and showed off their new skillls at the annual St Andrews Open Day. They have since followed that with a demonstration at Kingfisher Court in Stanground. It's always great to introduce new people to our hobby.

Late 2014 the committee of The Parkway Club decided to continue the promotion of Linedance events on the 2nd Sunday of every month. Their faith was justified and with increased attendances and some shrewd budgeting socials have now been booked through 2017 / 18. We thank Black Cat Promotions for their efforts in supplying acts for this venue. Promotion and management of this venue has now passes to Karen Holtom and Brian Glover. We wish them every success.

See 2019 gig guide on this site for The Fleet.

2019 is our 12th year of organising social line-dances to live music at The Fleet in Fletton, Peterborough. We know from your very kind messages that you enjoy your evenings with us and we hope you will continue so to do. We have been able to book several of the artists you have requested and also made a couple of other changes we thought appropriate from your suggestions.

I finished 2017 with me taking an enforced break due to a back problem. Not a great way to end an eventful year. On course to end 2018 in much better health and looking forward to The Thrillbillies rounding off our socials calendar.

We will start 2019 in January with Chris Mezza. We trust he is now healthy and well and able to join us having cancelled for October due to illness. We are also looking forward now to the rest of the year, especially working with The White Buffalo organisation at their Skegness weekend and their 2 music festivals at The Camp, Ramsey.

One of the really pleasing aspects of putting on socials is the opportunity to meet and greet friends both old and new, and from both sides of the footlights. Particularly pleasing also is to see the dances that are being taught at the Fleet and our classes in Whittlesey reaching the dance floor. We made a concious decision to include some of these in our interval disco and have a good response from yourselves. These are social nights for all to enjoy.

We're also priviledged to provide the interval disco for Janet & Les at the linedance events they host at Emneth near Wisbech on the 2nd Friday every month. A great crowd and a very warm welcome guaranteed.

For our regulars who join us for disco nights at Coates Public Hall we have 5 dates in the diary for 2018 including NewYear's Eve. We also have one event pin the diary at St Andrrews in May. These events are open to all and are for when there are no live linedance acts in the diary locally so we hope you can join us. The evenings are open to all and have now almost become a "linedance family" affair with an open door policy. If you would like to come along you can help us by giving us a call or dropping us a line so we can make sure there's a table for you. Dates for 2019 will be arranged once we understand dates for other local clubs.

All the dates for 2019 are now on the site. Hope you agree the programme is one to look forward to with several old friends returning by popular request.

Cheers, see you on the dance floor.

John & Lynne
